Verizon today announced the launch of the Gizmo Watch 4, the latest addition to its Verizon Family ecosystem, designed to provide parents with enhanced safety features and connectivity for their children. The smartwatch introduces capabilities such as Watch Removal Detection alerts, real-time location insights, and upcoming severe weather notifications, all aimed at keeping families connected and protected.
The Gizmo Watch 4 was developed with input from parents to address common concerns about children's safety and independence. It functions as an "invisible safety net," allowing kids to enjoy freedom without exposure to social media apps or unfiltered web browsers. Key safety features include real-time location tracking, customizable safe zones, watch removal alerts, and a distraction-free school mode. Guardians can add up to 40 trusted contacts to block strangers.
In terms of durability and performance, the watch boasts a new water-resistant design with a 1.6-inch scratch-resistant glass screen. It is powered by a faster processor and a battery that lasts up to three days, supporting high-quality video calling on Verizon's network. The device integrates seamlessly with the Verizon Family app, enabling centralized management of safety and wellness features, including step counters, to-do lists, and educational tools.
Verizon is also enhancing affordability and rewards through its new loyalty program. By enrolling via the My Verizon app, customers can avoid activation and device upgrade fees. Additionally, the Verizon Shine program offers weekly chances to win experiences, daily drops including concert tickets, merchandise, and more.
To coincide with the back-to-school season, Verizon is offering a promotion from July 9 through September 3, 2026, where new and existing customers can get a free Gizmo Watch 4 when purchasing the device on a 36-month payment plan with a new watch line at $10 per month plus taxes and fees. The value is provided as $180 promotional credits applied over 36 months.
The Gizmo Watch 4 is available in two colors: Dusk Blue and Pistachio Pin. It can be ordered at verizon.com or through the My Verizon App. More information on digital parenting can be found at Parenting in a Digital World.
