Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Fest's Cafecito Series Wins Two Telly Awards

Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Fest (TCCYF), the youth-focused film initiative created by HITN, has earned two Telly Awards for its interview series Tú Cuentas Cafecito. The series won a Silver Telly in the General–Interview & Talk Show category for its episode with Ingrid 'Superstar' Salcedo, an Emmy Award-winning broadcast executive and producer known for shaping Latin music award shows. A second episode featuring actress and filmmaker Roselyn Sánchez received a Bronze Telly in the same category. Sánchez, recognized for roles in Without a Trace and Devious Maids, recently directed the film Diario, Mujer y Café.

“For the past five years, HITN’s goal with Tú Cuentas has been to create a platform where young filmmakers and storytellers can showcase their voices and their work,” said Cynthia Rivera, co-director of the series. “Seeing our Cafecito series recognized with these Telly Awards is a beautiful affirmation of that vision, and we are deeply grateful to the emerging filmmakers who trust us with their stories and to the Telly Awards for this honor.”

The Tú Cuentas Cafecito series centers on intimate conversations with Hispanic leaders, creatives and changemakers, hosted by Raymond Arturo Pérez, a Los Angeles-based television writer who served as a staff writer on season two of Selena: The Series. Pérez’s approach, Rivera noted, “brings warmth and authenticity to every Cafecito conversation,” creating a welcoming space for guests to share their stories.

The Telly Awards, established in 1979, receive over 13,000 entries annually from across the globe and are judged by an industry body of over 250 experts. This recognition underscores the growing visibility of Hispanic-centered storytelling in digital and television media. For more information about HITN and its programming, visit the HITN website.
