Trollinger Law Opens Nominations for 2026 Hometown Heroes Award

Trollinger Law LLC has announced that nominations are now open for its annual Hometown Heroes Award, an initiative designed to recognize the bravery and dedication of first responders in Charles County and throughout Southern Maryland. The firm, which has offices in Waldorf, La Plata, and Frederick, Maryland, will accept nominations through the coming weeks, with winners slated to be announced on Oct. 5, 2026.

The award is open to a wide range of emergency personnel, including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, emergency response teams, public safety providers, emergency hospital staff, military service members, and other emergency workers. This inclusive approach ensures that all those who contribute to public safety have the opportunity to be honored for their service.

Each winner will receive a $500 cash prize and four complimentary tickets to a luxury suite at a D.C. United game on October 24, where they will be celebrated alongside other honorees and members of the Trollinger Law team. Additionally, the honorees will be recognized on the field during halftime, providing public acknowledgment of their contributions.

Past recipients have included current and retired members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, the Marine Corps, the Charles County Department of Emergency Medical Services, local police and fire departments, and volunteer rescue squads. This history underscores the firm's commitment to honoring those who serve the community in times of crisis.

Matt Trollinger, founder of Trollinger Law and a personal injury and workers' compensation lawyer in Waldorf, explained the motivation behind the award: "We started Hometown Heroes as a way to honor a group of people whose efforts to protect and serve others often happen behind the scenes, with no expectation of recognition. First responders help people and families during some of their darkest and most vulnerable hours. We're proud to express our appreciation for their courage and support."

The nomination process is straightforward, and questions can be directed to Dawn Williamson via email at dawn@trollingerlaw.com. This direct line of communication ensures that community members can easily participate in honoring their local heroes.

Trollinger Law LLC represents injured individuals in Southern Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia in workers' compensation and personal injury matters, including car accidents, truck accidents, slip-and-fall incidents, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. The firm offers free consultations to those seeking legal guidance and can be reached at (301) 965-8500 or through their website at https://www.trollingerlaw.com/.

This initiative not only provides well-deserved recognition to first responders but also highlights the importance of community support for those who risk their lives daily. By offering tangible rewards and public acknowledgment, Trollinger Law aims to foster a culture of gratitude and respect for the dedicated individuals who keep Southern Maryland safe.

The announcement of the Hometown Heroes Award comes at a time when first responders continue to face unprecedented challenges, making such recognition particularly meaningful. As nominations open, the community is encouraged to come forward and nominate the brave men and women who have made a difference in their lives.
