Trilogy Metals Inc. (NYSE American: TMQ) (TSX: TMQ) announced senior management appointments at its 50/50 joint venture with South32 Limited, Ambler Metals LLC, which is advancing the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects in Alaska’s Ambler Mining District. Michael Galicki has been named Vice President, Exploration; Cole Schaeffer Vice President, Human Resources, Community and Partnerships; Jenna Tan Vice President, Finance; and Ron Rimelman Senior Director, Permitting. The appointments strengthen Ambler Metals’ technical, financial and permitting leadership as it advances exploration drilling, community engagement, feasibility planning and expedited federal permitting under FAST-41, positioning the venture to support near-term milestones and progress toward an investment decision on the Arctic Project.
The new management team brings extensive experience to the joint venture. Michael Galicki, as Vice President of Exploration, will oversee the geological programs aimed at expanding and defining the mineral resources at the Arctic VMS deposit and the Bornite copper-cobalt deposit. Cole Schaeffer will lead human resources, community relations, and partnerships, focusing on maintaining strong ties with local communities and stakeholders. Jenna Tan will manage financial operations, ensuring the venture maintains fiscal discipline as it moves through feasibility and permitting stages. Ron Rimelman will direct permitting efforts, leveraging the FAST-41 process to expedite federal approvals.
These appointments come at a critical time for the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects. The Ambler Mining District is recognized as one of the world’s most prospective copper-dominant districts, hosting world-class polymetallic volcanogenic massive sulphide and carbonate replacement deposits. The Arctic Project, a VMS deposit, and the Bornite copper-cobalt deposit are the primary targets. Ambler Metals operates under an agreement with NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., supporting responsible exploration and development in cooperation with local communities. Trilogy’s vision is to develop the Ambler Mining District into a premier North American copper producer while respecting subsistence livelihoods.

The strengthening of the management team signals Ambler Metals’ readiness to achieve near-term milestones, including completing feasibility studies and securing permits, which are essential steps toward a final investment decision. The FAST-41 permitting process, which provides a streamlined timeline for federal reviews, is expected to accelerate the project’s development timeline. With copper demand rising globally due to electrification and renewable energy transitions, the Arctic Project could play a significant role in supplying critical minerals from a North American source.
