Tina Jurgens Appointed New Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Bastei Lubbe AG

The Supervisory Board of Bastei Lubbe AG, a leading independent publishing group in Germany listed on the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, has appointed Tina Jurgens as its new Chief Marketing and Sales Officer. She will assume her position on November 1, 2026, succeeding Sandra Dittert, who departed in July 2026 after six successful years.

Jurgens joins Bastei Lubbe from the ZEBRALUTION Group, one of Germany's premier digital distributors for book and audiobook publishers. Since 2024, she has served as Co-CEO, overseeing operations across digital publishing and podcast divisions, as well as technology, finance, and human resources. Her tenure at ZEBRALUTION began in 2018 as Managing Director, where she launched the new business division zebra-audio.net, now known as ZEBRALUTION Podcast. In 2022, she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

Before ZEBRALUTION, Jurgens accumulated extensive experience at leading German media companies. After graduating with a degree in journalism and communication studies, she started her career in 2004 as a product manager at the Süddeutsche Zeitung. She then held senior roles at Axel Springer, Bayerischer Rundfunk, and BRmedia, focusing on marketing and licensing of audio content and digital business model development.

Carsten Dentler, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bastei Lubbe AG, expressed confidence in the appointment: "In Tina Jurgens, we are gaining a proven media expert who combines long-standing experience in content marketing with extensive digital expertise and an entrepreneurial drive to shape the future. She is equally familiar with the traditional book and media business and with digital business models, and is therefore ideally equipped to strategically drive forward the marketing of our content and brands. We are convinced that, together with her colleagues on the Executive Board, she will be able to provide important impetus and unlock new potential for Bastei Lubbe."

The transition marks a strategic move for Bastei Lubbe as it continues to navigate the evolving publishing landscape. The company, known for its high-quality popular entertainment across books, audio books, and e-books, has been a pioneer in digital media, producing thousands of digital titles distributed through all major channels. Jurgens's background in audio content and digital business models is expected to strengthen Bastei Lubbe's position in the rapidly growing digital market.

Dentler also acknowledged the outgoing executive's contributions: "The Supervisory Board would like to express its sincere thanks to Sandra Dittert for her dedication and the consistently trusting working relationship. She has played a decisive role in shaping the publishing group's positive development and has thus made a significant contribution to its profitable growth and portfolio expansion. We wish her all the best for the future."

Bastei Lubbe AG, headquartered in Cologne, operates more than 14 imprints and has established several community-driven business models. The company generates annual revenues exceeding EUR 118 million (2025/2026 financial year) and remains an innovation driver in the industry. With Jurgens on board, the executive team aims to leverage her expertise to enhance marketing strategies and explore new revenue streams, particularly in the digital and audio segments.
