Jeff Biebuyck, co-founder of the Frontgate Real Estate Team at Compass in Los Angeles, is redefining team leadership by combining mindset coaching, content creation, and a new referral technology product. His approach centers on weekly Friday mindset meetings, a content platform called mindsetwithjeff.com, and a referral tool named Local Mayor, all designed to help agents build sustainable business through authentic relationships.
Biebuyck's Friday meetings focus on psychological barriers and self-awareness, which he describes as “almost like a therapy session.” These sessions encourage agents to be transparent about their struggles, a practice that has become the foundation of his larger content operation. The content platform publishes articles, upcoming podcast content, and video segments produced in partnership with Vyral Marketing. Each month, two three-minute videos are created, then cut into shorter clips for social media, YouTube, and newsletters. The content covers market trends and insurance realities but centers on mindset—how agents talk to themselves, why they avoid high-value clients, and the shift from chasing to attracting.
Alongside the content platform, Biebuyck is developing Local Mayor, a referral technology product that enables agents to build a curated directory of trusted local businesses. The concept involves cross-promotion with those businesses to create a self-sustaining referral loop, reducing dependence on paid advertising or lead-generation platforms like Zillow. “What if I worked with all these cool local businesses that I refer business to in a directory, and we both get really good SEO from it, and we have events together, and I refer them business and they refer me business?” Biebuyck said. Despite lacking a software development background, he and his partner Steve are building the product from scratch, working through CRM integrations and automated marketing workflows. “I do not know anything about coding,” he said. “But I know what the product is supposed to do. We are just muscling our way through it.”
The strategy ties the three components together. Friday meetings keep agents focused and honest. The content platform extends coaching beyond the team, positioning Biebuyck as a resource. Local Mayor turns the relationship-first philosophy into a repeatable system for generating organic referrals from local networks. Each piece feeds the others: content from the video studio drives platform awareness, the platform promotes Local Mayor, and referral relationships from Local Mayor inspire new content. Frontgate closed over $300 million in volume last year and targets $500 million this year. Whether the platform and technology accelerate that trajectory remains to be seen, but the infrastructure is being built rapidly.
