Terrence Murphy Sr., former NFL player and entrepreneur, has launched Synergy Sports Capital, a sports-focused private equity firm that aims to capitalize on the evolving sports investment landscape beyond traditional major leagues. With over $5 billion in sales and acquisitions and a portfolio of more than 110 companies valued at approximately $7 billion under his Terrence Murphy Companies umbrella, Murphy brings substantial experience to this new venture. The firm will focus on acquiring and scaling high-growth sports leagues, teams, and sports-adjacent ventures positioned for expansion in the modern sports investment environment.
As new sports leagues emerge and media consumption patterns shift, investors are increasingly exploring opportunities outside the established Big Four leagues. Synergy Sports Capital positions itself at the forefront of this trend, targeting properties that may offer significant growth potential. The firm's strategy combines institutional-quality investment discipline with deep industry insight to unlock long-term value for investors, partners, and the broader sports ecosystem.
To support the launch, Murphy partnered with Manifestive Design, a Boerne, Texas-based creative studio owned by Callie Roberson. Roberson has been a long-time collaborator on Murphy's ventures, and he has now added her to the Synergy team as Brand Strategist. "Callie is able to execute on my vision better than anyone else I know," Murphy stated. "She listens, refines the ideas and brings them to life. As a visionary, having someone who can integrate those ideas into real systems is incredibly important."
Manifestive Design developed a complete brand ecosystem for Synergy Sports Capital, including the logo and brand identity, investor pitch deck design, and a fully customized website. The scope of work aimed to ensure that the firm's digital presence, pitch materials, and visual identity consistently communicate its investment philosophy, leadership vision, and long-term growth strategy to investors and partners. The newly launched website serves as the firm's digital home, presenting its investment thesis, sector focus, and leadership background.
The collaboration between Murphy and Roberson spans nearly two decades, with Roberson helping shape the branding for several of Murphy's ventures. "One of the first brands I designed and built into a billion-dollar company in sales was with her help," Murphy noted. "Synergy Sports Capital is one of my biggest ventures to date and I couldn’t think of anyone else to help me with my brand, logo, pitch deck and website."
For Manifestive Design, the Synergy Sports Capital project underscores the studio's ability to support founders and organizations at the intersection of entrepreneurship, finance, sports, and emerging industries.
