SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII) announced its SSi Mantra surgical robotic system will be featured at the 2026 Society of Robotic Surgery Annual Meeting, July 23-26 in Hollywood, Florida. The system will be displayed throughout the event, highlighted in multiple breakout sessions and used in a live broadcast of a remote partial nephrectomy performed by Dr. Amitabh Singh from the company’s headquarters in Gurugram, India, on a patient at Rajeev Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre in New Delhi.
Chairman and CEO Dr. Sudhir Srivastava will participate as a speaker and panelist in multiple sessions covering telesurgery, robotic surgery adoption, regulatory frameworks and global access to robotic care. As of July 6, 2026, the SSi Mantra system had been used in 12,375 procedures spanning more than 170 procedure types, including 653 cardiac procedures, 178 telesurgeries and 225 pediatric surgeries, while approximately 2,100 physicians have been trained on the platform.
The demonstration of a remote partial nephrectomy highlights the system's telesurgery capabilities, which could expand access to specialized surgical care in underserved regions. The SSi Mantra's ability to perform complex procedures like cardiac and pediatric surgeries positions it as a versatile tool in the global adoption of robotic surgery. With 12,375 procedures already completed, the system is gaining traction, and the training of 2,100 physicians indicates a growing user base.
Dr. Srivastava's participation in sessions on regulatory frameworks suggests that SS Innovations is actively engaged in shaping policies that could facilitate broader deployment of its technology. The company's focus on affordability and accessibility may address cost barriers that have limited robotic surgery adoption in emerging markets. As the SSi Mantra continues to accumulate clinical evidence, its competitive standing against established systems like da Vinci could strengthen.
