Smoking Pig BBQ Company is celebrating 15 years in San Jose with a community anniversary event on Saturday, August 22, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at its San Jose location, 1144 N. 4th Street. The milestone celebration will bring together longtime customers, families and members of the San Jose community for an afternoon highlighting the food and people that have helped make Smoking Pig BBQ a local destination for slow-smoked barbecue for the past 15 years.
The anniversary event will feature a live performance by JC Smith & The Band from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., along with a DJ and MC from noon to 6:00 p.m. The DJ will host hourly giveaways throughout the celebration. Family-friendly activities will include face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon animals, large yard games and an anniversary photo backdrop. Throughout the afternoon, Smoking Pig BBQ will give away T-shirts, bottles of its signature BBQ sauce, tote bags, gift cards and original pig paintings.
The celebration will culminate with a Smoking Pig 15th Anniversary Grand Giveaway featuring an anniversary gift basket containing a Smoking Pig T-shirt, five bottles of BBQ sauce and a $50 Smoking Pig BBQ gift card.
The 15-year anniversary is more than a celebration of the restaurant. It is an opportunity for Smoking Pig BBQ to thank the San Jose community and the customers who have supported the business throughout the years. Known for its slow-smoked barbecue, Smoking Pig BBQ's menu includes ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken and signature creations such as its popular bacon-wrapped jalapeños known as Wolf Turds.
Members of the media are invited to attend the anniversary celebration. Television, print, radio and digital media opportunities include interviews with Smoking Pig BBQ ownership and team members, BBQ and signature meats coming directly from the smokers, behind-the-scenes footage of the smoking process, live music from JC Smith & The Band, customer and community interviews, food photography and video, family activities and anniversary festivities, hourly giveaways and the grand-prize giveaway. Interviews may be arranged in advance or during the event.
