Renaissance BioScience Corp., a global leader in yeast bioengineering, has appointed Dr. James Tansey to its Board of Directors, the company announced on July 30, 2026. Dr. Tansey brings extensive experience in life sciences, technology commercialization, and corporate governance, which will be instrumental as Renaissance advances its platforms for yeast-produced RNA and virus-like particles (VLPs) in crop protection and broader health applications.

Dr. Tansey is a professor at the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business and previously taught at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School. He is a founding team member at Gemina Labs, where he supports fundraising and business development, and serves on the boards of dynaCERT Inc. and Vanadium Resources Ltd. He is also a Senior Advisor to InBC, British Columbia’s $500 million strategic investment fund. His focus on impact investing and environmental sustainability aligns with Renaissance’s mission to address environmental challenges through innovative biotechnology.
