Q-NEX Launches Smart Lectern SL100 to Streamline Professional Presentation Spaces

Returnstar Technology, a global provider of smart education and collaboration solutions, has unveiled the Q-NEX Smart Lectern SL100, an integrated digital podium designed to streamline presentation and AV operations in professional spaces. As presentation environments become increasingly technology-driven, traditional lecterns often fall short, providing little more than a physical workspace. The SL100 addresses this by unifying audience communication, content interaction, and system control into a single, integrated solution.

One of the key innovations of the SL100 is its dedicated 23.8-inch Full HD front-facing display, which serves as a digital signage screen for meeting information, event schedules, welcome messages, or other audience-facing content. This eliminates the need for an additional display or playback device. Content can be played locally via USB or updated remotely through a mobile app, simplifying content management without adding extra hardware to the setup.

For presenters, the SL100 offers a 23.8-inch interactive pen and touch display paired with a built-in Windows PC. This allows presenters to access and operate their content directly from the lectern, much like using their own computer. Support for Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP)-compatible pens enables natural writing and annotation, reducing the need for external devices while providing a familiar and seamless presentation experience.

The SL100 also simplifies AV control. Traditional systems often require separate interfaces or network-connected control systems to switch sources, adjust audio, or operate connected devices. The SL100 integrates key functions such as 3×3 matrix switching, device control, presentation timing, and audio adjustment into its control panel. Crucially, these core local controls operate without an internet connection, making the lectern easy to deploy in environments with complex network configurations and ensuring essential controls remain available even during network instability.

For organizations managing multiple presentation spaces, the SL100 extends beyond the room through integration with the Q-NEX Platform. It supports remote management via a web console or mobile app, allowing administrators to manage the lectern and supported connected devices remotely. This provides a practical approach to maintaining presentation technology across multiple spaces, reducing the time and effort required for on-site troubleshooting.

The SL100 is part of the Q-NEX digital podium series, which includes the NDP200 and NDP600 for campus environments. The freestanding NDP200 is suited to larger spaces such as auditoriums and lecture halls, while the desktop NDP600 is designed for classrooms with existing lecterns. With its front-facing digital signage and network-independent control panel, the SL100 is particularly suited to formal presentation environments like executive meeting rooms, professional training spaces, and seminar halls.

Despite targeting different spaces and applications, the Q-NEX Digital Podium Series follows the same integrated approach, combining presentation, AV control, interaction, and device management into a unified podium. By connecting these functions into one coordinated solution, Q-NEX aims to simplify operations and improve technology management within a space, helping organizations build more efficient, connected, and future-ready presentation environments.
