The tool addresses a common dilemma: when a catch shows promise but it's unclear whether evolving immediately or powering up first yields a better result.
The calculator works by having users select a species, enter the current CP from the game's summary screen, and adjust appraisal controls for Attack, Defense, and HP to match in-game values. From these inputs, PoKeep estimates the Pokémon's level and maps the individual values onto the evolved form to display expected CP and HP. Unlike companion apps that require game credentials, PoKeep's calculator is entirely web-based, with manual data entry and no connection to a trainer's account.
Key features include formula-based estimates that rely on species base stats and the same CP relationship used in Pokémon GO, rather than rough tier lists. After a match is found, a level control allows users to shift up or down and observe how current CP, evolved CP, and HP move in parallel, helping with decisions about additional power-ups. The database covers standard evolution chains and Mega-eligible species, with PoKeep listing a primary Mega target for dual Mega lines like Charizard or Mewtwo. The species picker accepts queries in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, facilitating lookup across regional PoKeep sites.
PoKeep also offers regional pages in English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese, all using the same interaction model with localized copy and imagery. A typical workflow involves opening the calculator, selecting the Pokémon to evolve, entering CP and setting IV bar values to mirror the appraisal screen, then running the calculation to review the evolved stat preview.
