Oregen Energy Appoints Former Impact Oil & Gas Executive Philip Birch as Strategic Advisor

Oregen Energy Corp. (CSE: ORNG) (OTCQB: ORGEF) (FSE: A1S0) has appointed petroleum geoscientist and former Impact Oil & Gas Exploration Director Philip Birch as strategic advisor, the company announced Wednesday. Birch will support the company's evaluation of a potential investment in Namibia's offshore Block 2812Ab in the Orange Basin, a region that has emerged as a world-class petroleum province.

Birch played a key role in identifying and advancing the Venus prospect prior to its successful drilling by TotalEnergies. His expertise is expected to bolster Oregen's exploration strategy, subsurface evaluation and technical positioning related to Block 2812Ab, which sits adjacent to the Venus discovery within the same proven petroleum fairway.

"We are delighted to welcome Philip to the team," said Oregen Energy CEO in a statement. "His deep understanding of the Orange Basin and his track record in major discoveries will be invaluable as we assess this exciting opportunity."

Oregen Energy is an investment company primarily focused on oil and gas assets in Africa. The company's current flagship investment is a 33.95% net interest in Block 2712A, also in the Orange Basin offshore Namibia. The block is located in an emerging petroleum province that has seen multiple recent discoveries by major operators.

The appointment of Birch signals Oregen's intent to expand its presence in the region. The Orange Basin has attracted significant attention following a series of major discoveries, including the Venus find by TotalEnergies and Shell's discoveries in the Graff, La Rona and Jonker fields. These successes have highlighted the basin's potential as a significant hydrocarbon province.

Block 2812Ab is strategically located near these discoveries, offering potential synergies and reducing exploration risk. Birch's experience in the area is expected to provide critical insights into the subsurface geology and help identify the most promising drilling targets.

"The Orange Basin is one of the most exciting exploration plays in the world today," Birch said. "I look forward to working with the Oregen team to evaluate the potential of Block 2812Ab and contribute to the company's growth strategy."

Oregen Energy is actively exploring other investment opportunities in the Orange and surrounding basins. The company's strategy focuses on acquiring interests in high-potential blocks with proven petroleum systems and leveraging the expertise of industry veterans like Birch.
