HAMBURG, GERMANY - MPC Capital AG has officially changed its name to MPC Oceanic Group AG, a move that underscores the company's strategic positioning as an integrated investment and operating group for maritime and energy infrastructure. The name change was entered into the commercial register today, making it effective immediately, following approval by the Annual General Meeting on 28 August 2026.
The company's shares continue to be listed in the Scale segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Deutsche Börse). While the ISIN DE000A1TNWJ4 and the German Securities Identification Number (WKN) A1TNWJ remain unchanged, the ticker symbol has been updated to MPCG. This rebranding comes at a time when the company is focusing on expanding its footprint in sectors critical to global trade and the energy transition.
The new name better reflects the company's broader scope, which now extends beyond traditional asset management to include active operations and development of platforms in the maritime and energy sectors. For more than three decades, the Hamburg-based firm has been developing business models that are essential to global commerce and the shift toward sustainable energy. By aligning its corporate identity with its operational reality, MPC Oceanic aims to strengthen its brand recognition among investors, partners, and clients.
MPC Oceanic Group is a listed investment and management company with activities in both maritime and energy sectors. Together with institutional investors and strategic partners, the company develops, structures, and finances investments in ships and energy infrastructure. Its independent investment business is complemented by operational services provided to industrial clients and third-party owners, including newbuilding supervision and technical and commercial management during operations.
The company manages and operates more than 400 vessels and energy assets, with a total value of approximately EUR 5.6 billion in Assets under Management. It employs around 270 people across ten countries, reflecting its international reach and operational scale. The new name is expected to convey this integrated approach more clearly to the market.
Stefan Zenker, Head of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications, emphasized that the name change is more than a cosmetic update; it represents a milestone in the company's evolution. The new logo, available for download on the company's website, symbolizes the group's commitment to driving value through maritime and energy infrastructure. The change is effective immediately, and the company will operate under the new name henceforth.
As the world grapples with the challenges of climate change and the need for sustainable energy solutions, MPC Oceanic's focus on energy infrastructure aligns with global investment trends. The company's ability to combine investment expertise with operational management positions it uniquely in the market. The renaming to MPC Oceanic Group AG is a clear signal of its dedication to these sectors and its ambition to play a leading role in the energy transition.
The company's shares will continue to trade in the Scale segment, and investors can expect continuity in trading while the corporate identity evolves. The change does not affect the company's legal structure or existing contracts, ensuring a seamless transition for all stakeholders. MPC Oceanic Group AG's strategic pivot is likely to influence its future growth trajectory and its ability to attract capital in an increasingly competitive environment.
