Moody Capital Solutions, Inc., a relationship-driven investment bank providing advisory services and transaction execution, has announced the appointment of H. John Zhang as managing director. Zhang will focus on capital markets and mergers and acquisitions advisory engagements, bringing over three decades of experience to the firm.
Zhang joins Moody Capital from Roc Global, where he served as managing director and executed capital formation and M&A transactions in the metals and mining sector. His role there also involved developing relationships with Asian institutional investors, a key asset as Moody Capital seeks to expand its global reach. Prior to Roc Global, Zhang held managing director positions at Bank of America, Citigroup, and Crédit Agricole Lazard Financial Products. He also was a founding partner of a global macro hedge fund and commodity trading advisor, adding a diverse skill set to the team.
According to the press release, Moody Capital is widely recognized as a market leader in rights offerings and advises clients across a full range of capital-raising structures, including PIPEs, registered directs, CMPOs, follow-on offerings, ATMs, and private placements. The firm focuses on life sciences, technology, healthcare, and other growth industries, and has built its reputation over 40 years by providing clients direct access to senior management on every transaction.
The addition of Zhang comes at a time when investment banking firms are increasingly seeking experienced professionals with deep industry knowledge and international connections. His background in metals and mining, coupled with his relationships with Asian investors, is expected to enhance Moody Capital's ability to serve clients in these sectors and facilitate cross-border transactions.
"We are delighted to welcome John to the Moody Capital team," said a spokesperson for the firm. "His extensive experience and proven track record will be invaluable as we continue to expand our advisory services and capital markets capabilities."
Zhang's appointment underscores Moody Capital's commitment to strengthening its senior team to better serve its clients. The firm is a registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA/SIPC, and operates under the Moody Capital Solutions name.
