M-tron Industries, Inc. (NYSE American: MPTI) has announced a $6.8 million follow-on order from a U.S. Department of Defense contractor to support multiple counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) radar programs. The order includes several products, notably high-performance oven-controlled crystal oscillators, with manufacturing work scheduled at the company's Orlando, Florida facility through 2027.
The radar program is gaining traction across U.S. defense procurement channels and federal civilian agencies, and is expected to remain in production beyond 2030. Mtron noted that the award reflects sustained demand for its precision RF components used in defense and aerospace applications, including radar, electronic warfare, communications, drones, autonomous vehicles, guided munitions, and space platforms.
This follow-on order highlights the critical role of frequency control components in modern defense systems, particularly in countering the growing threat of unmanned aircraft. As adversaries increasingly deploy drones for surveillance and attack, C-UAS systems have become a priority for the Department of Defense. The order also signals confidence in Mtron's engineering capabilities and its ability to deliver high-reliability products over extended production timelines.
Mtron designs, manufactures, and markets highly engineered frequency and spectrum control products. The company provides close support throughout the product life cycle, including design, prototyping, production, and upgrades. With facilities in Orlando, Florida, and Yankton, South Dakota, as well as a sales office in Hong Kong and a manufacturing facility in Noida, India, Mtron is positioned to serve global defense and aerospace customers.
