As communities across the Texas Hill Country face renewed devastation from recent flooding, LiftFund has announced the 2026 Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Program to support small businesses and nonprofits struggling to recover. The program provides grants of up to $10,000 for eligible organizations that experienced economic damage from the July 2026 floods, with funds available for rebuilding, equipment replacement, and operating expenses.
Many businesses were still recovering from last year's floods when the latest storms hit, compounding financial setbacks and disrupting operations. Amy Hereford, President and CEO of LiftFund, emphasized the urgency of the response: "Our hearts are with the Texas small businesses that are facing yet another tragic disaster. When disasters strike, they need trusted partners who can respond in a matter of days to sustain the business and its employees."
To qualify, applicants must have been operating on or before July 1, 2025, and be located in one of 16 designated counties: Bandera, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, or Uvalde. They must also demonstrate a negative economic impact directly resulting from the July 2026 floods.
LiftFund has a track record of rapid disaster response, having deployed 525 grants and loans totaling over $17 million in the Hill Country over the past year. The organization has supported businesses affected by hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and the COVID-19 pandemic, developing systems that prioritize speed and equitable access to capital. "Every small business that reopens strengthens its community," Hereford noted. "When entrepreneurs can recover, employees return to work, families regain stability, and local economies begin moving forward again."
In addition to direct grants, LiftFund is collaborating with philanthropic organizations, corporate partners, and community leaders to expand available resources. Additional funding will help increase access to affordable financing and business support services as recovery continues.
