Lahontan Gold Corp. (TSXV: LG) (OTCQB: LGCXF) has released the initial assay results from its maiden 2025 reverse-circulation drilling program at the West Santa Fe Project in Nevada’s Walker Lane. The results confirm historic drilling and indicate a shallow, oxidized disseminated gold-silver system, strengthening the company's position in the region.
The first hole, WSF25-06R, returned 54.9 metres grading 1.00 g/t gold equivalent, including 16.8 metres grading 1.75 g/t gold equivalent. Notably, silver-rich mineralization yielded individual intercepts up to 176 g/t silver. These results validate the historic drilling data and support the potential for a near-surface, heap-leachable deposit at West Santa Fe, which is located adjacent to Lahontan's flagship Santa Fe Mine Project.
Lahontan Gold Corp. holds four top-tier gold and silver exploration properties in the Walker Lane of Nevada. The Santa Fe Mine project, spanning 26.4 km², has a history of past production between 1988 and 1995, with 359,202 ounces of gold and 702,067 ounces of silver recovered from open pit mines using heap-leach processing. According to a recent NI 43-101 technical report, the Santa Fe Mine has an indicated mineral resource of 1,539,000 oz Au Eq (48,393,000 tonnes grading 0.92 g/t Au and 7.18 g/t Ag) and an inferred resource of 411,000 oz Au Eq (16,760,000 tonnes grading 0.74 g/t Au and 3.25 g/t Ag), all pit constrained.
The company plans to continue advancing the Santa Fe Mine project toward production, update its preliminary economic assessment, and drill test the West Santa Fe project during 2025. The technical content of this release has been reviewed by Michael Lindholm, CPG, an independent consulting geologist and qualified person under NI 43-101.
