Ken Baker Retires as President and CEO of NewAge Industries After 42-Year Tenure

NewAge Industries, Inc. (NAI), parent company of AdvantaPure, NewAge Performance Products and Verigenics, announced that Ken Baker has officially completed his transition from President and CEO. Baker had served in that role since 1984, succeeding his father and company founder Ray Baker. He will remain on the Board of Directors. Mary Marcus assumed the role of permanent President and CEO in December 2024.

Baker was honored on May 8, 2026, at a celebration attended by more than 300 guests at Spring Mill Manor in Ivyland, Pennsylvania. The event included the annual ESOP share price announcement.

Under Baker's leadership, NewAge Industries implemented significant environmental initiatives, including powering its corporate headquarters and a manufacturing facility with solar energy from thousands of onsite panels. These efforts helped the company achieve an EcoVadis Platinum sustainability rating. Baker also championed employee ownership, transitioning the company to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) structure in 2006. Today, employees own 100 percent of the organization. He co-founded and chairs the Pennsylvania Center for Employee Ownership.

Baker led the expansion into high-purity markets with the AdvantaPure product line, which supports tubing and hose solutions for vaccine development and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. The company also serves industrial markets through its NewAge Performance Products line. In 2024, NAI opened a manufacturing facility in Coevorden, Netherlands, following a sales office in Hong Kong in 2023, adding to existing operations in Germany and Brazil.

Beyond business, Baker supports philanthropic initiatives including WHYY in Philadelphia and ACT II Playhouse in Ambler, Pennsylvania. He founded the Center of Excellence for Employee Ownership at Montgomery County Community College Foundation.

NewAge Industries, founded in 1954, designs, manufactures, and distributes fluid transfer systems for high-purity pharmaceutical, biopharma, and industrial markets. The company is ISO-9001 certified, 100% employee-owned, and holds a Platinum EcoVadis Sustainability Rating as well as being a Certified B Corporation.
