Inspired by oracle bone and bronze inscriptions, born from cultures that reflect unchanging human emotions across time, I continue to create under the theme 'Bringing Ancient Characters into Modern Spaces,' hoping to share their essence across all environments." Kei Sato has been practising ancient Chinese calligraphy since 1970 and became independent in 1994. She established Raira Studio in 1997, developing an original technique of expressing letters with granite in its original stone colour. Her works have been exhibited internationally, including at the Beijing China Museum of History, the Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum, and the Salon d'Automne in Paris. She has won numerous awards, including the China-Japan Peace Prize and the Art Gallery First Prize at the International Art Exhibition in Tokyo.
