Intellitec Solutions Marks 25 Years of Turning Technology into Business Advantage

Intellitec Solutions, a trusted enterprise resource planning (ERP) advisor and reseller, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this week. For a company that has been around for a quarter century, the milestone is not about looking back but about recognizing how far the team's expertise has come alongside the technology it supports.

Intellitec did not start out as a software company. In 1986, the team was part of an accounting firm, and clients kept returning with the same problem: their accounting software was not working the way they needed it to, and they could not find anyone who could help them fix it. The firm's team stepped in to solve those problems, bringing their own CPA knowledge, and proved quite adept at it. That expertise quickly turned into its own business, and Intellitec Solutions was born—not to sell software, but to help clients use the technology they already had more intelligently.

"That's the part of our story I'm proudest of," said Rick Sommer, President of Intellitec Solutions and a member of the founding team. "We didn't start out trying to sell anyone anything. We started out solving a problem our clients actually had. Twenty-five years later, that's still the whole job. Helping organizations use technology intelligently, not just use more of it. Everything else we've built follows from that."

In the years since, the technology Intellitec supports has changed almost beyond recognition, from on-premise servers to cloud-native platforms, from manual data entry to automated, real-time reporting. The team behind it has not changed nearly as much. Fourteen members of Intellitec's team have been with the company since its earliest days, and their expertise has grown along with every shift in the industry. That tenure has become one of the firm's sharpest advantages: more than two decades of pattern recognition, put to work on whatever platform a client happens to be running today.

That growth shows up in the numbers as well. The fourteen-person team has grown into a 42-person practice today, and Intellitec is now recognized as one of the leading Sage and Microsoft partners in the industry. None of that growth would have happened without a strong network of other technology partners, including PointClickCare, Solver, and many others, whose platforms Intellitec has helped clients put to work over the years.

"The tools we use today look nothing like the ones we started on, and honestly, that's the fun part of the job. There's always something new to learn," said Tom Rogers, Senior ERP Advisor at Intellitec and one of the company's first fourteen employees. "But the instinct for what a client actually needs hasn't changed since day one. If anything, having seen so many platforms and so many trends come and go makes it easier to tell clients what's actually going to matter for their business, and what's just noise."

Intellitec plans to mark the anniversary throughout the year with content spotlighting its team, its clients, and lessons learned across a quarter century of ERP implementations and support. As the team sees it, the goal has not changed since the beginning: technology is only as good as the guidance behind it.
