HKTDC's Seven Flagship Lifestyle and Licensing Events Open Today, Highlighting Global Innovation and Sustainability Trends

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) today officially opened its seven flagship lifestyle and licensing events, including the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, Home InStyle, Fashion InStyle, Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair, DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong, Hong Kong International Licensing Show, and Asian Licensing Conference. These events, running concurrently from April 28 to 30 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and AsiaWorld-Expo, have attracted some 5,600 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions.

HKTDC Executive Director Sophia Chong emphasized Hong Kong's role as a super connector and value-adder, bridging the Chinese Mainland's market with the global economy. 'Backed by its solid strengths, well developed innovation ecosystem and robust intellectual property infrastructure, Hong Kong is the ideal base for companies to grow their businesses, pursue creativity and innovation, and bring them to commercial fruition,' she said.

The Gifts & Premium Fair and Home InStyle feature a new 'Reimagine' themed floor at HKCEC Hall 5, showcasing creative gifts, home products, and trends in cultural creativity, sustainability, and gerontechnology. Notable launches include the Camel Brand MINI20 thermos blind box by Wei Yit Vacuum Flask Manufactory and PREN Ltd's infection-prevention mobile toilet, a waterless unit with health monitoring capabilities.

The Hall of Fine Designs at the Gifts & Premium Fair gathers over 100 exhibitors with design-led products, including Star Industrial's Red A 'Made in Hong Kong' mini-series blind boxes and Moral Team Holdings' Napier Coded backpack for pickleball enthusiasts made from recycled materials. Home InStyle presents the Gerontech and Innovative Material Pavilion, funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission, featuring over 20 local enterprises with products like Scan Infinity's TechFitX Smart Sports Training System and Sinomax's bionic ultrasonic sleep soother.

Fashion InStyle's highlighted zone NEXT@Fashion InStyle demonstrates material innovation driving sustainability, with exhibitors like Belgium's Bloom Biotech showcasing microalgae leather, Finland's Spinnova PLC offering wood-based textile fibre, and Vietnam's Thai Son S.P Co., Ltd. presenting ramie fabric. Project ambassador Han Chong of self-portrait leads six local designer brands using forward-looking materials from suppliers including Chargeurs PCC, MYCL-Mycotech Lab, and Texwinca Holdings Ltd.

The Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair and DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong highlight eco-friendly solutions such as Elements Printing and Packaging's FSC Transparent Non-plastic packaging and BSN International's RFID labels with paper-based inner layers. DeLuxe PrintPack features Marshallom's 'Victoria Harbour Day & Night' gift box combining light and shadow effects with storage.

The Hong Kong International Licensing Show introduces for the first time an IP and e-Commerce Support Services zone, uniting e-commerce platforms, KOLs, and marketing firms to help brands capitalize on e-commerce growth. Headline IPs include Potatoz by 9GAG Limited, LuLu the Piggy by Toyzeroplus, and Café de Bollo by Yogurt Studio. The concurrent Asian Licensing Conference features speakers like Maura Regan of Licensing International and Alessandro Villa of FIFA discussing global licensing trends and sports licensing strategies.

Industry seminars and forums throughout the fairs cover topics such as generative AI in printing, sustainable home and gift design, and cultural fusion in lifestyle design, providing insights into the silver economy, market trends, and innovation.
