HKTDC August Events to Spotlight Wellness and Global Trade

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is set to host five major exhibitions from August 13 to 17 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, drawing over 1,850 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions. Under the theme “Live Well. Stay Well,” the events aim to capitalize on growing consumer interest in wellness, quality living, and holistic wellbeing. The fairs include the 36th Food Expo, 10th Beauty & Wellness Expo, and 12th Home Delights Expo, alongside the 4th Food Expo PRO and 17th Hong Kong International Tea Fair.

For the first time, the trade fairs will feature exhibitors from all ASEAN member states, including debuts from Brunei and Timor-Leste. Newcomers Colombia and Greece also join, expanding the international scope. The Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has organized delegations from multiple provinces to showcase premium agricultural products, leveraging Hong Kong as a gateway to global markets. Notably, the Korea Pavilion has grown by 40% to become the largest overseas pavilion with over 130 exhibitors.

Food Expo PRO introduces a new “Meat Zone” to meet rising demand for premium meats, with highlights like Korean frozen marinated barbecue and halal-certified beef tendon balls from a long-established Hong Kong brand. The popular “Coffee Zone” returns with exhibitors from Yunnan, Colombia, Macao, Myanmar, Thailand, and the United States. A “Food Science and Technology Zone” focuses on alternative foods and automation, featuring an intelligent food-service robot and a Food Tech Symposium exploring technology’s role in healthier lifestyles. For the first time, pet food products are introduced, with a Hong Kong exhibitor using patented packaging to preserve nutrition without cold chains.

The Hong Kong International Tea Fair showcases rare teas, including first-flush purple bud pu'er from Yunnan and white tea from Laos. New pavilions include the Chinese Mainland Matcha Pavilion and Yixing Zisha Teaware Pavilion. A new “Tea Lifestyle” zone presents innovative products like sparkling tea and tea-based cocktails, while the Hong Kong International Tea Culture Forum discusses internationalization of Chinese tea brands.

The Beauty & Wellness Expo debuts a “Stay Relax” zone featuring red-light therapy capsules and wellness balms, alongside the popular “Scentsation” fragrance area. The Home Delights Expo highlights quality sleep and smart living, with the Sleep Health Association launching “Go Sleep Exp” and HKT offering smart home discounts and showcasing next-generation broadband.

The International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine and Health Products runs from August 13 to 15, focusing on clinical translation and regulatory policies. Expanded to three days, it brings over 30 speakers from various countries to discuss Chinese medicine modernization. Public education displays at the Food Expo aim to enhance understanding of Chinese medicine.

To celebrate HKTDC’s 60th anniversary, special promotions include free admission before noon daily (limited to 600 visitors), “6”-themed offers, and lucky draws with prizes worth over HK$1 million. E-tickets are available through multiple platforms, and morning and evening admission tickets return. The events provide a comprehensive platform for sourcing, networking, and retail, reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as an international trade hub.
