Heliostar Metals Strengthens Financial Position, Advances Ana Paula Development

Heliostar Metals Ltd (TSXV: HSTR) reported second-quarter results that underscore a strengthened financial position and operational momentum, according to an update from Stonegate Capital Partners. The company achieved record gold production of 14,803 ounces, a 26% increase quarter-over-quarter, and revenue of $56.5 million. Mine operating earnings reached $31.1 million, and cash balances grew to $43.0 million despite a $10 million initial payment for the Goldstrike acquisition. This performance was driven by San Agustin reaching steady-state operations and continued low-cost production from La Colorada, which together supported a record cash balance and improved the operating cash-flow bridge to the company's flagship Ana Paula project.

The quarterly net income decline was attributed to non-operational factors, including the annual option grant, higher taxes, and foreign exchange fluctuations, rather than weaker mine performance. This distinction is critical for investors as it indicates the underlying operations remain robust. The improved cash position and operating earnings provide a clearer path to funding development activities, particularly at Ana Paula, which remains the principal step-change growth project. The company is targeting a Feasibility Study in the second quarter of 2027, with an underground permit submission expected in the third quarter of this year and first gold production targeted before the end of 2028. The Expansion Zone at Ana Paula offers potential upside beyond the current development case, though permitting and project financing remain key execution variables.

Near-mine reserve growth is expected to enhance visibility beyond 2026, addressing one of the key markers for the company's long-term value. Additionally, the Goldstrike acquisition adds 1.065 million ounces of attributable gold resources and emerging antimony optionality. Surface work has confirmed mineralization at Antimony Ridge and identified a new target, Antimony Knoll, located 1.7 kilometers west. An initial reverse circulation drilling program of approximately 1,500 meters is underway, with results expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. Goldstrike broadens Heliostar's longer-term pipeline, although the remaining staged purchase consideration should be consistently reflected in valuation assessments.

Key markers for the company's progress include reserve conversion, execution at the Veta Madre vein system, and Ana Paula permitting. The recent operational results and strategic acquisitions position Heliostar to deliver on its development milestones while maintaining a solid financial foundation. As the company advances these initiatives, the market will be watching for continued operational stability and successful execution of its growth strategy.
