FingerMotion Inc. (NASDAQ: FNGR) has announced an agreement to acquire a 9.9% stake in Lyken AI Computing Inc., operating as Lyken.AI, from Alset AI Ventures (TSX.V: GPUS; OTCQB: GPUSF; FSE: 1R60) for $500,000 in FingerMotion common stock. The transaction, which is subject to TSXV approval on behalf of Alset AI, marks FingerMotion’s entry into the enterprise computing market and the first step in a broader strategy to build a recurring-revenue enterprise compute business alongside its mobile data and telecommunications operations. No cash consideration is payable at closing, and Alset AI is expected to retain a 90.1% interest in Lyken.
FingerMotion said it intends to build an enterprise offering encompassing GPU and cloud compute capacity, secure storage, private low-latency networking and deployment support, leveraging Lyken’s previously disclosed ecosystem that includes NVIDIA, Dell Technologies Canada and established data-center providers. The company plans to pursue enterprise compute as a distinct scalable business and may seek to increase its participation in Lyken and its underlying infrastructure over time, subject to commercial performance, capital availability and applicable regulatory and exchange requirements.
This strategic move is significant for FingerMotion as it diversifies its revenue streams beyond its core mobile payment and recharge platform in China. By entering the enterprise computing market, FingerMotion positions itself to capitalize on the growing demand for AI and cloud infrastructure, a sector that has seen exponential growth. The partnership with Lyken.AI, which has ties to industry giants like NVIDIA and Dell, provides FingerMotion with a foothold in a market that is expected to continue expanding.
The acquisition aligns with FingerMotion's vision to build a highly engaged ecosystem of users, and now, enterprise clients. This could potentially open up new opportunities for cross-selling and synergies between its consumer-focused mobile services and its new enterprise offerings. For Alset AI, the sale allows it to retain a majority stake in Lyken while bringing in a strategic partner that can help accelerate growth.
Investors are likely to view this as a positive development, as FingerMotion is taking steps to evolve beyond its current business model. The company has been working to grow its user base in China, with the goal of eventually serving over 1 billion users. This move into enterprise computing could provide a new avenue for growth and revenue generation.
FingerMotion's entry into the enterprise computing market is a testament to its adaptability and forward-thinking approach. As the demand for AI and cloud services continues to surge, this strategic investment could prove to be a significant value driver for the company in the long term.
