Energy Fuels Completes Acquisition of Australian Strategic Materials, Bolstering Western Rare Earth Supply Chain

Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR), a leading producer of rare earth elements, uranium, and other critical materials, has announced the completion of its acquisition of Australian Strategic Materials Limited (ASM). This strategic move significantly advances Energy Fuels' objective of establishing a fully integrated Western mine-to-magnet supply chain, a critical need for the United States and its allies as they seek to reduce reliance on Chinese rare earth processing.

The acquisition brings ASM's operating Korean Metals Plant in South Korea under Energy Fuels' control. This facility currently has 1,300 tonnes per year of neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) alloy production capacity and commercial metallization capabilities for neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr), key components in the manufacture of permanent magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense technologies. The plant is undergoing expansion to increase annual NdFeB alloy capacity to 3,600 tonnes, with commissioning anticipated as early as the end of 2026. This expansion is expected to play a pivotal role in meeting the growing demand for rare earth metals outside of China.

In addition to the Korean Metals Plant, the acquisition adds ASM's Dubbo project in Australia, a long-life resource containing rare earths and other critical minerals. This project will diversify Energy Fuels' resource portfolio and provide a secure source of feed for its processing facilities. The transaction complements Energy Fuels' ongoing production and expansion initiatives for NdPr, terbium, and dysprosium oxides at its White Mesa Mill in Utah, the only fully licensed conventional uranium mill in the United States. The company is also developing heavy mineral sands projects in Brazil, Australia, and Madagascar, which will further secure the supply of critical minerals.

The combined platform now spans the entire value chain from mining and processing to oxides, metals, and alloys. Energy Fuels' planned acquisition of Vacuumschmelze (VAC), a German permanent magnet manufacturer, would extend this platform into magnet production, completing the mine-to-magnet vision. This vertical integration is expected to provide Energy Fuels with a competitive advantage by ensuring supply chain security and capturing more value at each stage of production.

The completion of this acquisition marks a significant milestone in the Western world's efforts to build a resilient and independent rare earth supply chain. As global demand for rare earth elements surges and geopolitical tensions highlight the risks of over-reliance on a single source, Energy Fuels is positioned to become a key supplier of rare earth metals and magnets to Western industries. The company's strategic acquisitions and expansions are aligned with government initiatives in the United States and allied nations to secure critical mineral supplies for national security and economic growth.

Following the completion of the transaction, ASM shares have been delisted from the Australian Securities Exchange. Energy Fuels' shares continue to trade on the NYSE American under the symbol "UUUU" and on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol "EFR."
