Centenario Gold Initiates Exploration Work at Los Reyes Copper-Gold Project in Chihuahua, Mexico

Centenario Gold Corp. (TSXV: CTG) announced today that it has initiated the first phase of a work program at its Los Reyes project, a copper and gold exploration asset located near Chihuahua, Mexico. The initial phase will involve detailed mapping and sampling of old underground mine workings along a north-south trending contact zone extending for one kilometer. These workings date back to the early 1900s and have never been systematically sampled.

Following the initial program, the company plans to commence a 1,500-meter diamond drilling program designed to test depth extensions of a high-grade copper-zinc-silver skarn zone previously mined by ASARCO. Centenario has submitted an environmental study report and expects to receive permits by late April 2026, with drilling to begin shortly thereafter.

The Los Reyes property, located approximately 170 kilometers south-southeast of Chihuahua City, covers an area of historical mining centered along the western contact of a two-kilometer-diameter granodiorite intrusive body. Historical mining activities date back to the early 1700s. In the late 1800s, ASARCO mined approximately 200,000 tons of high-grade copper-zinc-silver material at the Jibosa workings.

Most recent exploration was completed by Valterra Resource Corporation in 2019 along an 800-meter north-south strike covering the copper-gold skarn zone. The exploration target is over 100 meters wide and hosts multiple zones of strongly copper-enriched mineralization. In a December 2, 2019 press release, Valterra reported surface sampling results from waste dumps and outcrop chip samples, with an average copper grade of 3.1%. Twenty-two of 28 samples had values greater than 1% copper, and anomalous samples contained up to 0.57 g/t gold, 25.3 g/t silver, 0.47% molybdenum, and 1.7% zinc.

Derrick Strickland, an independent Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical disclosure in this release. The qualified person has not verified information on adjacent properties, and mineralization on adjacent properties is not necessarily indicative of mineralization on the Los Reyes property.
