The Canadian Salsa Festivals Project (CSFP) is expanding its reach to one of Canada's most iconic tourism destinations with the inaugural Salsa at Niagara Falls, scheduled for September 12-13. The free festival, presented in partnership with Niagara Falls Tourism, Niagara Parks Commission, Fallsview Casino Resort, and TLN Media Group, will transform the Niagara River Parkway into a vibrant celebration of Latin culture, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the falls.
The festival will showcase a diverse array of talent, including a special appearance and free concert by salsa star Frankie Negrón on Sunday, September 13 at 8 p.m. Over 300 performers will grace two live entertainment stages, headlined on Saturday by Juno-nominated Andy Rubal, alongside award-winning Latin entertainers Yani Borrell and Aiona Santana. Attendees can participate in dedicated dance zones with non-stop lessons throughout the weekend at the Oakes Garden Theatre, featuring world-class dance performances and interactive lessons with schools from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, as well as local Buffalo dance schools MOVIEmiento Latin Dance Studio and Fanny Olaya.
In addition to music and dance, the event will feature a vibrant marketplace celebrating Latin culture, with authentic cuisine and specialty vendors. Each night at 10 p.m., a spectacular fireworks show choreographed to salsa music will light up the sky over the falls. This landmark event marks the beginning of an annual tradition, blending the energy and passion of Latin culture with one of Canada's most celebrated destinations.
As the newest stop in the CSFP tour, Salsa at Niagara Falls builds on more than two decades of bringing communities together across Ontario, Canada, and worldwide through music, dance, food, and cultural celebration. The project's mandate is to develop and present ethno-culturally relevant heritage-based works that elevate public appreciation and participation in Canada's multicultural traditions. The CSFP is a federally incorporated not-for-profit entity and the main organizer of the annual TD Salsa in Toronto Festival, Canada's largest celebration of Latin arts, music, and culture.
The partnership with TLN Media Group, which celebrates over 40 years of service to Canadians, underscores the festival's commitment to connecting communities through storytelling and shared experiences. TLN Media Group is Canada's most influential multicultural media company, with a portfolio including TLN TV, Univision Canada, and Mediaset Italia Canada, and it also produces and promotes cultural events such as Salsa in Toronto/Salsa on St. Clair.
