CAHEC Appoints Corine Sheridan to Board of Directors

CAHEC, a community development organization headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, has announced the appointment of Corine Sheridan to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026. Sheridan brings more than 40 years of experience in affordable housing finance and investment, bolstering the nonprofit's leadership as it continues to expand its impact across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Sheridan retired in late 2024 after a distinguished career dedicated to expanding access to affordable housing nationwide. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions at Berkadia from 2021 to 2024, where she led the Tax Credit Syndication team's national origination and acquisition strategy. In this role, she oversaw complex transactions and collaborated with tax credit investors nationwide to support the development and preservation of affordable housing communities.

Prior to Berkadia, Sheridan spent nearly two decades at Boston Capital as Director of Originations from 2003 to 2021. She was responsible for developing and executing the firm's targeted nationwide origination strategy, helping to expand its impact while supporting developers and partners committed to affordable housing. Her leadership directed capital to communities with critical housing needs across the United States. In 2024, Sheridan co-founded Sheridan Consulting, a firm providing financial and organizational expertise to nonprofits, housing authorities, and other affordable housing practitioners. Through this work, she continues to support mission-driven organizations with strategic guidance, operational insight, and deep industry knowledge.

Beyond her professional roles, Sheridan's commitment to the sector is evident in her extensive nonprofit leadership. She currently serves on the boards of the Light House Shelter in Annapolis, Maryland; the Anne Arundel County Affordable Housing Coalition; and the Real Estate Committee of True Ground (formerly the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing) in Arlington, Virginia. This board service underscores her dedication to addressing housing instability and supporting organizations that serve vulnerable populations.

Dana Boole, President & CEO of CAHEC, stated, "Corine is a passionate advocate for affordable housing. Her keen understanding of market dynamics, earned respect among peers, and deep-rooted relationships - let alone her dynamic personality - allow her the opportunity to make a strong impact on what is already a highly engaged CAHEC Board."

CAHEC is a community development organization that strengthens communities by providing affordable housing and supportive service initiatives in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The organization engages in diverse product areas, including low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, new markets tax credits, and renewable energy credits.
