BOXABL Inc. (NASDAQ: BXBL), a factory-built construction company known for its foldable homes, has revealed a new concept aimed at the data center industry. The Server Pod is a design study for modular, factory-assembled enclosures intended to house AI and cloud computing infrastructure. The company is clear that the Server Pod is not currently in production, but rather a demonstration of BOXABL's manufacturing capabilities and an invitation for data center developers, operators, and equipment vendors to explore custom design and manufacturing partnerships.
The concept configurations are ambitious, ranging from a 10-foot Server Pod envisioned at a 0.5 petaflop tier to a 2,500-square-foot Server Tron envisioned at 16 petaflop operations per second. However, actual configurations, engineering, cooling approaches, and equipment will be determined in collaboration with customers. This flexibility is intended to accommodate the diverse needs of potential partners, from hyperscalers to colocation providers.
The announcement comes at a time when the data center industry is experiencing explosive growth. Citing JLL’s 2026 Global Data Center Market Outlook, BOXABL notes that the sector is expected to grow at a 14% compound annual growth rate through 2030, with roughly 100 GW of new capacity coming online from 2026 through 2030. This growth could require up to $3 trillion in total investment. The company believes that factory-built, repeatable structures could help address the speed, cost, and labor challenges that the data center industry faces in meeting this demand.
BOXABL is seeking engagement with data center developers, hyperscalers, colocation providers, equipment manufacturers, and other partners interested in contracting the company to design and manufacture custom modular structures. However, the company cautions that there is no assurance that any agreement will be reached or that any Server Pod or similar product will be built. This is a strategic move to position BOXABL as a potential player in the modular data center market, leveraging its existing manufacturing expertise.
BOXABL has a track record of innovation in factory-built construction. Since its inception in 2017, the company has raised over $230 million from more than 50,000 investors. Its flagship product, the Casita, is a 361-square-foot studio unit that unfolds on-site in under an hour. The company also offers the smaller Baby Box and is developing stackable modules for larger residential structures. BOXABL began trading on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “BXBL” on July 20, 2026, following a business combination with FG Merger II Corp.
The Server Pod concept represents a potential pivot for BOXABL, extending its factory-built approach from housing to critical infrastructure. If successful, it could tap into a massive market, but it remains to be seen whether the company can convert this concept into a viable product line. For now, the initiative serves as a signal of BOXABL's ambition to diversify and address one of the most pressing infrastructure needs of the digital age.
