The Better Buildings for Humans podcast, powered by Advanced Glazings, has announced a major format expansion with the launch of its new Project Profiles series. This initiative moves beyond conversational interviews to offer detailed explorations of completed high-performance buildings, taking audiences inside projects from concept through execution to real-world performance.
Since its launch, the podcast has become a leading platform for architects, engineers, and built environment leaders seeking insight into how buildings impact human outcomes. The new series aims to provide concrete examples of how principles discussed in previous episodes are applied in practice. Host Joe Menchefski stated, “We’ve spent years unpacking the principles behind better buildings. Now we’re showing exactly how those principles are applied, project by project, decision by decision. You’re not just hearing what matters. You’re seeing what works.”
Each episode will feature leading firms walking through recently completed projects in detail, covering how design decisions directly impact human comfort, cognitive performance, and well-being. The series will also examine the integration of daylighting, materials, and systems to balance sustainability with usability, as well as the tradeoffs, constraints, and breakthroughs encountered during execution. Additionally, episodes will explore what the building is doing now that it’s complete, how it performs, and what it teaches.
The format also provides insight into the firms behind the work, their philosophies, specialties, and what differentiates them in a market shifting toward measurable performance. Dr. Doug Milburn, Chairman of Advanced Glazings, noted, “Owners and operators are no longer satisfied with design intent alone. They want outcomes. What this series does is connect those outcomes to real projects and real decisions, which is exactly what the industry needs right now.”
Production on Project Profiles episodes is already underway, with initial projects being filmed and prepared for release. Architecture and design firms interested in being featured can submit projects for consideration at BBFH@PhillComm.Global. With this expansion, Better Buildings for Humans positions itself not just as a forum for ideas, but as a definitive platform for understanding how better buildings are conceived, built, and experienced.
