BAC and NAMB Unite for Historic Joint Advocacy Fly-In Event in Washington, D.C.

In a significant move for the mortgage broker industry, the Broker Action Coalition (BAC) and the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) have announced a joint advocacy fly-in event, titled “Advocacy in Action: Better Together,” scheduled for April 20-22, 2026, in Washington, D.C. The announcement, made during NAMB Focus, marks the first time these two organizations will co-host such an event, aiming to bring independent mortgage brokers from across the nation to engage directly with policymakers.

The partnership is a milestone for the broker community, particularly for Brendan McKay, Chief Advocacy Officer of BAC and owner of McKay Mortgage. McKay has long championed unity as a cornerstone of effective advocacy. Under his leadership, BAC has evolved from a startup into a proven force in Washington, notably achieving the passage of trigger lead legislation—a top priority identified by brokers three years ago. “In DC, we are united,” McKay emphasized. “We do not care if you’re W-2 or 1099. We do not care if you are a true broker or if you’re a non-delegated correspondent, and we sure as shit do not care which mortgage lenders you do or do not work with.”

Rachel Clark, Executive Director of BAC, highlighted the power of collaboration. “Policy decisions are being made every day that directly impact brokers and the families we serve. By co-hosting this event with NAMB, we are creating a stronger, louder, and more effective voice for independent brokers,” she said. The event will include policy briefings, issue-focused discussions, and direct meetings with members of Congress and their staff, equipping participants to drive meaningful policy change.

McKay views the partnership as a demonstration of unity in action. “NAMB and the BAC coming together in this manner shows not just talk about unity in any division, but actual action towards it,” he noted. He also stressed the need for sustained financial support from brokers, pointing to the trigger lead victory as proof of concept. “If you want it to continue, you need to step up and start paying for it,” he urged.

The event is priced at just $99 to ensure accessibility for brokers of all business sizes, reflecting BAC’s commitment to inclusive advocacy. More information and registration details are available on the Broker Action Coalition’s website at https://brokeractioncoalition.com/aia-2026. As the mortgage industry faces an evolving regulatory landscape, this historic collaboration signals a new era of coordinated advocacy, with independent brokers united to protect their channel as a vital pathway to homeownership.
