The Atlanta Community Food Bank, central to the fight against hunger in metro Atlanta and north Georgia, has announced the appointment of new members to its Governing and Advisory Boards, effective July 1, 2026. These appointments come as the organization projects that over 900,000 people in its service area will experience food insecurity, underscoring the critical need for enhanced leadership and strategic guidance.
Kyle Waide, President & CEO of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, expressed gratitude for the new members' commitment, stating, "We are honored to welcome our new Board members, who bring their professional expertise and dedication to our community, to the Food Bank. The Food Bank has added four new Governing Board members for Fiscal Year 2027, each serving three-year terms. These members are Danielle Fallin, Dean of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University; Marshall Guest, Chief Strategy Officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber; Noel Baber, VP & CFO of Kaiser Permanente Georgia; and Vonetta Daniels, Founder & Principal of VYD and Associates. Their diverse expertise spans public health, business strategy, finance, and consultancy, which will be instrumental in addressing the multifaceted challenges of food insecurity.
In addition, the Advisory Board has elected Christine Connor, Managing Partner and Founder at Switch Consulting Group, as Vice Chair. Joining her are two new Advisory Board members: Jay Ritchie, President & CEO of Tokio Marine HCC, and Kevin Autie, Senior Manager at Gas South. Their insights will further support the Food Bank's efforts to make food assistance more convenient, consistent, frequent, and equitable.
The appointments come at a pivotal time when the Food Bank is striving to expand its reach and impact. With more than 700 community-based nonprofit partners across 29 counties, the organization provides healthy food to thousands of families, children, and seniors annually. In 2023, the Atlanta Community Food Bank achieved a significant milestone by distributing its one billionth meal, and these new board members are expected to play a key role in accelerating progress toward ending hunger.
The addition of leaders from public health, corporate finance, and strategic consulting reflects a holistic approach to tackling food insecurity. Their guidance will help the Food Bank leverage resources, forge new partnerships, and innovate solutions to ensure that all hungry people in metro Atlanta and north Georgia have access to nutritious meals when they need them.
