Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) announced the results of its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on January 29, 2026, reporting that all resolutions were approved. The meeting saw 47.78% of outstanding shares voted, with overwhelming support for key decisions including the sale of the company’s 40% interest in the Evesham Macklin oil and gas lands in Saskatchewan for $4.8 million. Over 99% of votes favored the transaction, which removes $3.8 million in debt and provides $1 million in net proceeds. The company stated the strategic shift allows it to focus resources on the Cambodian onshore Block VIII project for potential growth.
Shareholders also approved the reappointment of Davidson & Company LLP as auditors, set the number of directors at six, and elected Russ Tynan, Mike Weeks, Terry Mereniuk, Ken Booth, Grant T. Smith, and Dr. David Johnson to the board. Additionally, the company’s rolling stock option plan was ratified. The detailed resolutions are available in the Management Information Circular on the company’s website at https://angkorresources.com.
Dr. David Johnson brings over 40 years of global exploration and production experience, having worked at Shell, ExxonMobil, Husky Energy, and Kuwait Oil Company. His expertise in petroleum, natural gas, and helium, along with his leadership in acquiring over 20 production sharing agreements, is expected to support Angkor’s expansion in Cambodia. The company also announced the retirement of long-time directors Steve Cochrane and Scott Smith, acknowledging their contributions.
The sale of the oil and gas assets, initially announced via a letter of intent, was deemed a fundamental transaction requiring shareholder approval. The proceeds will be directed toward advancing the Block VIII project, where EnerCam Resources, Angkor’s Cambodian energy subsidiary, holds an onshore oil and gas license covering over 4,095 square kilometers. Following seismic surveys in 2025, the company aims to identify drill targets and move toward exploratory drilling.
Angkor Resources Corp. is a TSX Venture Exchange-listed resource optimizer focused on mineral and energy solutions in Cambodia. Its mineral subsidiary, Angkor Gold Corp., holds two exploration licenses with copper and gold prospects. The company’s energy subsidiary, EnerCam Resources, is actively pursuing oil and gas exploration to establish Cambodia as a producing nation. CEO Delayne Weeks thanked shareholders for their support and welcomed Dr. Johnson to the board.
