AmpliTech Group Reports 48.6% Revenue Growth and Significant Gross Margin Expansion in Q1 2026

AmpliTech Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMPG, AMPGR, AMPGZ) reported financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, showing a 48.6% year-over-year increase in revenue to $5.35 million, up from $3.60 million in the first quarter of 2025. Gross profit surged 116.1% to $2.57 million, and gross margin expanded significantly to 48.0% from 33.0% in the prior-year period. The company attributed the improvements to higher sales in its manufacturing and engineering segment, which generated $3.28 million in revenue compared to $0.99 million a year earlier. Net loss narrowed by 17.3% to $(1.52) million.

Operationally, AmpliTech advanced several key programs, including 5G ORAN radio systems, proprietary RF and microwave technologies, 5G MMIC chip designs, and satellite and defense communications applications. Research and development expenses declined year-over-year as multiple products transitioned from development to commercialization. The company also strengthened its balance sheet through a rights offering and a registered direct offering, generating aggregate net proceeds exceeding $16 million. As of March 31, 2026, cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities totaled $18.4 million, working capital improved to $25.4 million, and total assets to total liabilities ratio improved 47% to $48.36 million from $32.86 million on December 31, 2025. The company remains debt-free.

CEO Fawad Maqbool stated, 'The first quarter of 2026 reflects meaningful progress across several areas of our business. We achieved substantial revenue growth YoY, expanded gross margins significantly, strengthened our balance sheet, and continued transitioning key technologies from development into commercial deployment.' He added that investments in 5G ORAN radio technologies, MMIC design capabilities, and advanced RF systems are beginning to contribute to operational performance. Management believes the company is well-positioned to benefit from expanding global 5G infrastructure deployment, increasing demand for RF and microwave technologies, and growth in satellite and defense communications markets. The company expects full-year revenue guidance to remain achievable, with revenue recognition more heavily weighted toward the second half of the year due to customer delivery schedules and production timing.
