The 100-day countdown to the 16th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2026) officially commenced on August 28 in Zhuhai, Guangdong, marking a significant milestone as the event celebrates its 30th anniversary. Scheduled for December 7-13, the exhibition will showcase the latest advancements in aviation and aerospace, with a commemorative logo unveiled at the countdown ceremony.
The logo, featuring a three-dimensional, gold-toned "30," incorporates tech-inspired elements and gradient ribbons in blue, purple, and magenta, symbolizing the fusion of aviation technology and advanced manufacturing. Since its inception in 1996, Airshow China has evolved into one of the world's premier airshows, growing from an initial exhibition area of less than 8,000 square meters to 450,000 square meters, and expanding participant countries from 25 to 47.
Li Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Government of Zhuhai Municipality and Deputy Secretary-General of the Zhuhai Executive Committee of Airshow China, emphasized the event's international, professional, and market-oriented growth over the past three decades. "In 2026, Airshow China will continue to benchmark itself against world-class exhibitions and contribute to the development of aviation industry clusters," he stated.
The countdown event featured a World Airshow Dialogue session, where industry representatives discussed global industrial-chain coordination, green aviation, the low-altitude economy (or advanced air mobility), aircraft engines aftermarket services, and general aviation development. International peers, including MAKS and Boeing, delivered video remarks, expressing anticipation for participating in the upcoming exhibition with state-of-the-art products and services.
In a round-table dialogue, Dai Haibin, spokesperson for AVIC General Aircraft Company, highlighted Airshow China's role as a platform for debuting key aircraft, such as the AG600 "Kunlong" amphibious aircraft. Xu Shixin, Chief Operating Officer of Embraer China, noted the immense potential of the Chinese market and the opportunities for cooperation in green aviation and low-altitude economy, particularly in eVTOL aircraft development and building a low-altitude transportation ecosystem.
Additionally, Zhuhai Airshow International Culture Communication Co., Ltd. signed IP merchandise cooperation agreements with partners including Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai; Alipay (Hangzhou) Digital Service Technology Co., Ltd; and Truly HONEST Investment Limited. These collaborations aim to develop products integrating traditional culture with aerospace technology, AI-powered digital commemorative ticket stubs using NFC technology, and derivative products based on sci-fi intellectual properties.
As Airshow China enters its 30th year, the event continues to solidify its status as a global hub for aviation and aerospace innovation, fostering international cooperation and driving industry growth.
